India Post Payment Bank India Post Payment Bank, established under the Department of Posts, Government of India, has started an initiative named ‘Investor Didi’ with the aim of making women aware. Under which India Post Payment Bank has launched India’s first water float in Dal Lake of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Financial Literacy Camp organized. Camp’s focus on ‘for women, by women’ approach Financial Awareness Investor Didi initiative is based on her ideology for women, as women from rural area feel more comfortable to share their queries with a woman. Floating Financial Literacy Camp
India’s first floating on-water financial literacy camp was organized among the local residents around the world famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Investor Didi organized a financial literacy session in the local Kashmiri language from Shikara itself. On this initiative, Vineet Pandey, Secretary, Department of Posts called it an important step. The Financial Literacy Camp reflects the DoP team’s ability to reach out to every household in the country far and wide, while the geographical regions differ.
This initiative has paved the way for rural women to understand their financial products and services, beware of frauds and get help in their own language with the help of Investor Didi. India Post Payments Bank MD and CEO J. Venkataramu said that the lady postman, investor didi, who has deep social connection with the rural masses, will increase financial awareness especially among women and help them solve their problems in a convenient manner.
IPPB Facilitating Banking Solutions
The main task of IPPB is to use the country’s network of 160,000 post offices (145,000 rural post offices), 400,000 postal workers for those with less access to banks and those who are not connected to banking services. IPPB’s reach and operation pattern is based on India Stack’s core pillars of providing paperless, cashless, bankless, easy and secure doorstep services. For this, CBS-integrated smartphones and biometric devices were made the medium. With a focus on affordable innovation and ease of banking process for the masses, IPPB is facilitating easy and affordable banking solutions through an interface available in 13 languages.
