In fact, whenever India gets any construction done on its border, China gets upset and acts like Galvan, Doklam and Tawang. If there are not one or two but many such projects, they are becoming an eyesore for China. Let’s know about five such projects
China scared of Himank project
Under the Himank project, India is continuously engaged in building a road till the China border. The journey of the Indian Army is being made easier by the Border Road Organization (BRO). This year, BRO has started two projects in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of 17 thousand feet, this is the area from where the border of China is just 200 meters away. Apart from this, the distance of China border from the second road is only 300 meters.
India is emphasizing on infrastructure
Along with Arunachal Pradesh, India is continuously working on increasing the infrastructure in the border areas of Ladakh. An all-weather road is being built here, which can be reached in any season. Till now it used to take a lot of time for the soldiers to reach the hot spring area, but with the new construction it will be easier. In eastern Ladakh too, India had made arrangements for ten thousand soldiers to live together. Now this capacity has been increased to 22 thousand. There is a plan to increase it to 35 thousand in future. The height of this shelter is 18 thousand feet. Apart from this, such bunkers are also being built, which China will not be able to spoil.
Project Zorawar will increase strength
The Chinese army is also afraid of India’s Project Zorawar, under this project the Indian Army will deploy indigenous lightweight tanks on the border. First of all, it will be started from the dangerous areas of East Ladakh. The Indian Army has named this project after former Kashmir commander Zorawar Singh. Zorawar Singh raised his flag in Tibet in the 19th century. He defeated China in that war. These tanks will be equipped with drone system. Right now the tanks of India which are stationed on the border, there are many reasons for them and there is a lot of difficulty in taking them to the border. While China already has light tanks.
The train will reach the neck of China
Uttarakhand’s 345 km long border is very important to deal with China. However, India has made preparations to defeat China here too. Here is the Barahoti border of China in Karnaprayag of Chamoli district. There is preparation to deliver the train here in 2024. This area is like the throat of China. Train will come here from Rishikesh. In the second phase, the track will be laid from Karnprayag to Joshimath. Which will prove to surround China from the other side. This is the biggest and most expensive project being built on the Chinese border in 75 years. Its cost is about 24 thousand crore rupees. The special thing is that 90% of its route will be decided by tunnel. There are a total of 16 tunnels here, whose length is 105 km. Meanwhile there are 12 stations.
Will beat you with helipad and air strip
To compete with China, India is also increasing helipads and airstrips near the border. If we talk about Uttarakhand, till now there were 20 helipads, whose number was increased to 50 in 2020 itself. By this time, three active air strips have also been prepared here. Work is also being done to increase their length, so that in case of any emergency, more and more fighter jets can be landed here. The work of making such bunkers is also going on here, whose tanks will not be able to harm anything.
