Who is Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi

Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi belongs to an influential family of Gorakhpur. His family lives in Civil Lines. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2015. After this he also worked in two big companies. When he was caught after the Gorakhnath temple attack, his family members had claimed that his mental condition was not good since 2017, although the evidence found by the ATS was shocking. Murtaza’s father Mohd. Munir is a legal advisor to several banks and multinational companies. Apart from this, his uncle is a famous doctor. Murtaza’s grandfather had also been the district judge of Gorakhpur.

Murtaza had attacked the soldiers

On April 4, 2022, Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi suddenly attacked PAC jawan Anil Kumar Paswan, posted in the security of Gorakhnath temple, from Banke. Abbasi also tried to snatch his rifle, due to which the rifle fell on the road, when another jawan came to save him, Murtaza attacked him too.

According to the FIR lodged by the police, Murtaza was chanting Nara-e-Takbir, Allah Hu Akbar while attacking. First the security personnel freed Banka from his hand and then caught him. A book written in Urdu language was also found with him. The investigation of the case was handed over to the ATS.

Murtaza confessed the crime

While probing the case, ATS had recovered a book written in Urdu, sharp weapons, Jihadi videos in mobile and laptop from Murtaza. Murtaza had confessed that he was angry about the Hijab issue, CAA and NRC matters, he had attacked to take revenge. Murtaza told the ATS that he had carried out the attack so that he would be killed, but he was caught. He was going to shift to Canada soon.

It was also revealed in the investigation that many times money transactions were done abroad from Murtaza’s bank account. When ATS searched Murtaza’s room, 6 priceless air guns were found. ATS had also recovered an international number SIM card and an internet dongle from his room.

Had come on the radar of ATS before the attack

In fact, Murtaza attacked the Gorakhnath temple on April 4, but he had already come under the radar of ATS, Murtaza’s name in the list of 16 suspects released by the intelligence agency on March 31, 2022, four days before the incident. Was also. On April 2, the ATS team had also gone to his house, but he had fled to Nepal. Returning from there, he attacked the security personnel of the temple.

ATS had declared terrorist

He was caught by the police on April 4 and taken on remand, later the matter was handed over to the ATS. ATS had declared Murtaza a terrorist under UAPA on 16 April after investigating the case. At present, Murtaza’s family members have left their Gorakhpur home and shifted to some other place, now there is no one at his house.
