How India established its power in the world by leading the Global South, read a report on the success of Indian diplomacy.
Global South Summit Leadership.
India has always been ready to help the developing and less developed countries of the world. India has proved it again in the meeting of Global South. Recently, in the Global South meeting held under the leadership of India, many such issues were discussed, which underlines the new role of India among the developing or less developed countries of the world. All small and big countries are aware of the emerging power of India on the world stage.
In the Global South meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi drew the line of India’s role in the coming times. He insisted that three-fourth of the world’s population lives in these countries and India is with these countries. PM Modi said- India has always stood firmly for the greater role of developing countries in determining our common future. He also mentioned the supply of vaccines and medicines to poor and small countries during the pandemic as an example.
While Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar insisted that the needs of poor and developing countries have not been taken into account in the current global system, with poor countries being treated discriminatory on issues like COVID, food and energy security, climate change, terrorism . But in this context, India’s initiative is different from the thinking of developed countries. India has always wanted human-centred globalization.
How did India’s role increase?
India has always been raising the issue of Global Terrorism. It has even been making diplomatic efforts to keep the economically weak countries free from China’s debt trap. In the midst of the Russia-Ukraine war, many countries have supported the peace messages of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that it is necessary for peace in the world.
India is presiding over the G20 this year and in the meantime India has also got the opportunity to lead the Global South. The most important thing is that not all countries from the Global South are included in the G20, so this is a big opportunity for India to establish its leadership.
Global South is different from Global North
The difference between Global North and Global South is the same as that between a developed country and a developing country. Understand that Global North is a group of developed big countries while Global South is a group of developing or less developed countries. This is the reason that among the 120 countries involved in the Global South meeting, India’s leadership appeared ready to give a new direction to the world. This is a big diplomatic success of India on the world map.
