Dr. Aarti Prabhakar is an American scientist of Indian origin. She is the founder and CEO of Actuate, an NGO/non-profit organization. She was born in Delhi, the capital of India, but she lived in America with her family as a child. He did his early education in Texas city of America. He later completed his PhD from California Institute of Technology in 1984. After that she started working for the federal government.
From 30 July 2012 to 20 January 2017, Dr. Aarti served as the head of the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and handled her responsibility well. She previously headed the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from 1993 to 1997 and was the first woman to head it. She was the head of NIST in Bill Clinton’s government, while she was the head of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Obama’s government.
Now she is going to be Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and Chief Adviser to the President for Science-Technology. In addition, she will be a co-chair of the President’s Advisory Council on Science and Technology and a member of the Biden cabinet. Now just waiting for Senate confirmation.
