According to RBI’s holiday list, both private and public sector banks will remain closed in many cities across the country, while users will be able to use mobile banking services.
Banks across the country will remain closed today on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. Falling on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri, Ram Navami marks the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. Lord Rama, believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is considered an ideal human being and a symbol of truth and bravery. According to RBI’s holiday list, both private and public sector banks will remain closed in many cities across the country, while users will be able to use mobile banking services. Bank holidays in each city depend on the list of holidays issued by the Reserve Bank of India. Here is the list of cities where the central bank has declared bank holiday for today.

The stock market will also remain closed
On the other hand, today the stock market will also remain closed and there will be no trading. According to the BSE website, NSE and BSE will also remain closed on the occasion of Ram Navami. While the Multi-Commodity Exchange segment of BSE will remain closed in the morning session, trading will resume tomorrow at 5 pm. Apart from this, the Multi Commodity Exchange will remain closed till 5 pm and after that trading will start.

Banks will remain closed for 15 days in April
On the other hand, even in the month of April, banks are going to remain closed for half a month. According to statistics, banks are going to remain closed for 15 days in different parts of the country. The financial year has to be closed on April 1, due to which banks are closed all over the country. Mahavir Jayanti will be celebrated in different parts of the country on 3rd and 4th April, even then the banks will remain closed. Banks are going to remain closed in the country on 5th April due to Babu Jagjivan Ram Birthday and on 7th April Good Friday. There will also be Eid in this month. According to RBI, banks are going to remain closed in different parts of the country on 21st and 22nd. On the other hand, banks will remain closed on 4 Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays in April.
