Today, DFS held a special meeting with Public Sector Banks, Insurance Companies and Financial Sector companies to discuss ways to ensure employment of Agniveers after completion of military service. In this, emphasis was laid on the fact that with military discipline, Agniveer could set up his successful business and banks should help him in this.
The Finance Ministry issued a statement saying that PSBs, insurance companies and financial institutions will find employment opportunities for Agniveers on the basis of their educational qualifications and skills. The ministry further said that it has also been decided that banks will provide support through suitable credit facility of Agniveers for skill upgradation and starting their own business.
The Finance Ministry said that existing government schemes like MUDRA, Stand Up India etc. will be used to support Agniveers.
