private companies argument
Private companies argue that their non-inclusion in the spectrum auction can give a serious blow to the digitization of the economy. Along with this, the competition of Indian products in the global market will also be badly affected. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has submitted its recommendation, which has been approved by the Digital Communications Commission on May 17. This proposal of TRAI has to be approved by the cabinet and it needs at least 45 days before the auction starts.
As soon as the proposal of TRAI is approved by the cabinet, an agency will be hired to review the auction. The terms and conditions of the auction will be prepared, a notice will be issued to invite applications and after that the meeting with the different parties will start. All these procedures have to be followed for auction. The report says, even if TRAI’s proposal is approved immediately, it is not possible to complete the auction in June.
