The long wait of central employees is finally over. The government has announced a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance. Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that DA has been increased by 4 per cent to 42 per cent for central government employees. This decision will benefit 47.58 lakh employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners.
Till now, all central government employees and pensioners were getting DA and DR at the rate of 38 per cent under the Seventh Pay Commission. Dearness allowance will be given at the rate of 42 percent in the salary of March and arrears of 2 months January and February 2023 will also be paid. After increasing the DA of central government employees, the question is that how much the salary of the employees would have increased.
Actually its calculation is done according to the basil salary. The employees whose maximum basic salary is Rs 56,900, then their salary has increased by more than Rs 27 thousand annually. Let us also try to explain to you about its complete calculation.
How much will the dearness allowance increase?
According to the information, DA will be paid along with the salary for the month of March 2023. As everyone knows that dearness allowance is calculated on the basic salary only. For example, if a government employee’s salary is Rs 20,000, then after the 4 per cent increase in DA, his salary will now increase by Rs 800 per month.

What is the formula for dearness allowance

How much will the pension increase?
If the basic pension of a pensioner is Rs.31,550. Due to 38 per cent dearness relief, DR was getting Rs 11,989 per month. After 42 per cent, the DR for pensioners will be Rs 13,251. This means that after an increase of 4 per cent, a person getting a basic pension of Rs 31,550 in DR will get Rs 1262 every month. Along with this, pensioners will get arrears of two months i.e. Rs 2,524 extra on the basis of Rs 1262.

How much will the salary of the employees increase?
After the 4 per cent dearness allowance announced today, the total DA figure has increased to 42 per cent. If the calculation is done according to the maximum salary limit, then the total annual dearness allowance will be Rs 2,86,776 on the basic salary of Rs 56,900. In fact, according to the basic salary of Rs 56,900 to the employees, your dearness allowance should be Rs 23,898, which was Rs 21,622 monthly according to 38 percent. This means that the dearness allowance has increased by Rs 2,276 every month. This means that according to this, the annual dearness allowance of the employees of this grade pay will increase by Rs 27,312.
