The second phase of IPL 2021, interrupted by Corona, is starting in UAE from 19 September. Many players have withdrawn their names before the second phase starts. Many star players will be absent in the second phase of the league, which will have a great impact on the teams. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli believes that the departure of top players will not affect his team.
RCB’s Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, Finn Allen, Kane Richardson and Washington Sundar are not participating in the second phase of IPL 2021 due to different reasons. Virat’s team has replaced Vanindu Hasaranga, Dusmantha Chamira, Tim David, George Garton and Akash Deep with the team as a replacement.
Kohli trusts his teammates
Kohli said in the video posted by the franchise, ‘I have talked with everyone, last month I had a talk with everyone. We have replaced some of our important players with high-end players. Some of our important players will definitely not be with us, but the players who are going to join the team also have amazing talent. I am very excited to practice with him.
Speaking on reaching UAE ahead of time, Captain Kohli said, ‘It was unfortunate that we reached here early. As long as there is covid, anything can happen. Hope we stay safe here and enjoy IPL then play T20 World Cup again after that.
Siraj confident of better performance
Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj arrived in Dubai to play the second phase of IPL and he told that he is very happy to be associated with the team. Siraj said, ‘It is very good with the team, we are in a good position in the points table. We have got very good players. To be honest, my career has progressed from here so I am very excited to be back. In the Australia series where I was the leading wicket-taker, I am ready to take on a similar responsibility.
After reaching Dubai on Sunday, Kohli and Siraj will now remain in hotel quarantine for six days. RCB are third in the points table with 10 points from seven matches. They will start the second leg of IPL 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi on 20 September.
