Dr. Yogesh Kumar Chhabra told that the patients who were in the grip of other viral diseases used to recover completely in 8-10 days after treatment, but this is not the case at all in the case of COVID.
How to take care of yourself after recovering from covid
The havoc of Coronavirus continues in India. We have undoubtedly left the peak of the second wave of corona virus behind and now there is a huge decrease in new cases coming daily, yet the number of patients who die due to corona in the country is continuously frightening. Talking about the last 24 hours, 60,753 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered across the country and 1647 people have died. The second wave of the pandemic shook the country badly. This time, the more worried a patient was when he got infected, he looked equally upset even after recovering. It simply means to say that even after recovering from COVID, the patient’s problems did not end and he got caught in the problems of post-Covid. Yogesh Kumar Chhabra of Max Hospital (Shalimar Bagh, Delhi) had an exclusive conversation with NewsNCR on this whole topic.
People are struggling with these problems after recovering from Corona
Dr. Yogesh Kumar Chhabra has been treating corona patients continuously since last year. He told that the patients who were in the grip of other viral diseases used to recover completely in 8-10 days after treatment, but this is not the case at all in the case of COVID. The patient who got infected with COVID-19 after recovery is getting troubled by the problems related to post covid. Post COVID is affecting almost all the organs of the patient who has been cured of corona. People who have recovered from the epidemic are having serious problems like diabetes, hypertension, lung problems, long-term oxygen requirement, hormone related problems, kidney problems, stress. Dr. Chhabra said that in view of the post-Covid problems of people recovering from COVID, there should be arrangements for such special OPDs in hospitals where people who have recovered after getting infected with COVID can be treated.
It is very important to follow this kind of lifestyle to stay healthy.
Dr. Yogesh Kumar Chhabra while interacting with NewsNCR said that people who have recovered from corona as well as healthy people should also take full care of their lifestyle. He said that all of us should keep the amount of salt and sugar in our diet low and also take measures for weight loss. Apart from this, one should stay away from outside food and should also keep doing yoga and exercise regularly. Dr. Chhabra said that if we keep these things in mind, then we can avoid such problems in the coming time. He told that by exercising regularly, our lungs remain healthy, the chances of diabetes and obesity are also reduced. If a person follows such a lifestyle, he can recover quickly despite being infected with COVID.
