The weather will start changing in the country in the next few weeks. With the fall in the temperature, the level of pollution is also expected to increase. This can cause a lot of trouble to the people who have recovered from COVID. Doctors say that people whose lungs have been affected after corona infection will have to take special care. Being careless can make the situation worse.

Dr Jugal Kishore, chairman of the Community Medicine Department of Delhi’s Safardjung Hospital, said that respiratory problems are being seen the most among post-Covid problems. This shows that the lungs of those recovering from the corona have been affected. In such a situation, if the level of pollution increases, then these people may have to face a lot of trouble. Because due to increase in pollution, the amount of PM 2.5 and PM 10 in the air increases significantly. Long-term exposure to PM 2.5 particles increases the risk of air pollution in the body. For this reason, the immunity of a person also decreases. Due to low immunity, many diseases start occurring in the body.

Pollution can prove to be dangerous

Ajay Kumar, senior doctor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, says that if the level of air pollution is too high, then it causes many types of respiratory problems. People whose lungs are already weak, they have a lot of trouble in breathing bad air. Which can prove to be dangerous. Therefore people who are facing respiratory problems. They need to be careful. Apart from this, those people who have asthma also have to take care.

According to the doctor, during the cold season, dust particles together with other polluted particles act as carriers, due to which the most affected are respiratory patients. Due to the activation of some factors including dust, pollution, smoke, these things act as a trigger for their merger. During this time, respiratory patients also have more problems because as pollution increases in the environment, the problems of lung patients increase due to it.

According to Dr Kishor, if the level of pollution is seen going from dangerous to very dangerous (350 to 450), then change the place for some time and
Go to a place where the level of pollution is less.
Try to always wear an N95 mask. If it suffocates the breath, then apply a normal mask throughout the day or tie a wet handkerchief over the mouth.
If you feel a sore throat, take steam and gargle.
Along with water, keep consuming other drinks like buttermilk, shikanji, sherbet etc.
