How dangerous is the delta plus variant of coronavirus
The Delta Plus variant of the coronavirus can be very dangerous for the entire human race. In such a situation, it is very important to understand how much damage this variant will cause to young children. So far, it is being heard that the Delta Plus variant of Corona can affect children. In such a situation, now a big question here is that how dangerous can the Delta Plus variant be for children. NewsNCR had an exclusive conversation with Dr Sunil Singhal, Director and Senior Pediatrician, Singhal Medical Center, to know about the impact of the Delta Plus variant on children. Dr. Sunil Singhal while interacting with us said, “It is believed that the Delta Plus variant can affect children. Cases of this variant have been seen in some districts of Maharashtra. In these places, there are cases of infection in children too, but they are not much, only 6 to 8 percent. One good thing here is that the infection rate is high but the death rate is low. It can be controlled easily.”
What is the probability of serious illness and death in the Delta Plus variant?
Dr. Sunil Singhal said that the delta plus variant may increase the infection rate but it has less chance of serious illness and mortality. He said, “I think in our country hardly this variant will be so dangerous. We are seeing that the cases of delta variant in US and UK are 6 to 8 per cent of the total cases. We have got to see the Delta Plus variant in few places in India. We hope that this variant of corona virus is not so dangerous and even if it is dangerous, we can be able to handle it. Let us inform that some other experts have suggested that there is no need to do anything new to avoid the delta plus variant of corona virus. We will have to wear masks as before, follow social distancing, wash our hands regularly and avoid going to crowded areas.
