While older people are more prone to heart disease, in recent times there has been an increase in the cases of heart attack, cardiac arrest among the youth.
Many experts and several studies have attributed the sudden increase in the number of young patients to poor lifestyle habits. A healthy diet and lifestyle helps in keeping the heart healthy.
Control blood pressure and cholesterol levels
For the healthy functioning of the heart, it is very important that you keep your blood pressure and cholesterol levels under control. High blood pressure and high cholesterol levels can increase your risk of heart diseases, including stroke, heart attack and more. Blood pressure can be checked in clinic or at home with the help of blood pressure monitor, while you can get your cholesterol checked through blood test.
Avoid sedentary lifestyle and exercise regularly
According to a study, prolonged sitting is associated with chronic health conditions including heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer. So start exercising regularly. You can always start slow. Gradually increase your exercise hours.

They increase your blood pressure and the level of triglycerides in the blood, putting you at increased risk of stroke and congestive heart failure. Also, taking too much stress puts a lot of strain on your heart. Therefore, practice yoga or meditation to reduce and control the stress level. This will promote better heart health.
