The positivity rate of Corona in Delhi has exceeded seven percent. The number of active patients has also crossed the figure of 3 thousand. Experts say that cases will increase in the coming days in the capital.
New cases of corona in the country’s capital Delhi are increasing rapidly. 1375 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. The pace of infection in the capital can be gauged from the fact that in just seven days, the number of active corona patients has doubled. The positivity rate in Delhi has also increased to more than seven percent. Four districts of the capital have come under the Orange Zone. In view of the increasing cases, the containment zone is also increasing. The number of containment zones in Delhi has increased to 199.
According to the Delhi Health Department, there are currently 3643 active cases of corona in the capital. Seven days ago this figure was 1774. According to this, the number of active patients has increased by about 50 percent in just seven days. Out of the total active patients, 168 patients are admitted in hospitals. It is a matter of relief that there is no increase in the cases of death.
Why are cases increasing?
COVID expert Dr. Anshuman Kumar says that two new sub-variants of Omicron have been found in Delhi. All these variants can be the reason for increasing the case. Apart from this, people are now getting infected again due to reduced immunity. Since the infectious potential of all the sub variants of Omicron is very high. That’s why people are getting positive easily, but there is nothing dangerous about it. In a disease like corona, so many cases will keep coming. As long as the cases are under control in hospitalization or deaths. Till then there is nothing to panic.
According to Dr., the cases may increase for the next few days. The peak can come after the number of active patients reaches between 10 to 12 thousand. This time too, the graph of corona in Delhi will remain the same as it was seen during the increase in cases last month. At present, it is seen that 90 to 95 percent of the patients do not need to be hospitalized. So there is no danger of danger.
Two new sub variants of Omicron have been found in Delhi
The genome sequencing report came two days ago in Delhi, in which it has been found that cases of Omicron sub-variants BA 2.38 and BA 2.37 have been registered in the capital. These samples have been found from the sequencing lab of ILBS Institute, Delhi. According to doctors, very mild symptoms of corona have been seen in the infected of these variants. All these variants are similar to Omicron. So there is nothing to worry about. As cases increase, genome sequencing has also been increased. Now more samples are being tested than before.
Elderly and sick people should be careful
Dr. says that the variants of Omicron may not be dangerous, but elderly and sick people need to be protected from infection. Before going to the crowd, definitely put on a mask and take care of cleanliness and if there is any symptom of fever or corona, then get the test done.
