New cases of corona have been increasing continuously in Delhi for the last few days. Cases of Omicron sub-variants BA.2.38 and BA.2.37 have been confirmed in the capital. Experts say that due to these new sub-variants, cases are increasing in the capital.
Corona cases have started increasing once again in the country’s capital Delhi. Last month itself, there was a lot of new cases of corona in Delhi, but now within a month, cases have started increasing again. In the last 24 hours, 1118 new cases have come in the capital. The positivity rate has exceeded 6 percent. The number of active patients has also exceeded three thousand. Four districts of Delhi are now in Orange Zone. That is, the infection is spreading rapidly in these districts. Patients are also increasing in hospitals in Delhi and their number has increased to 160, although it is a matter of relief that the cases of death have not increased.
According to the Delhi Health Department, the maximum number of cases are coming in the Southern District, East, North West and Central Districts of Delhi. In these four districts, the positivity rate of corona has exceeded five percent. The highest infection rate is in South Delhi district. Red zones are also highest in these districts. In Delhi, new cases have increased by 70 percent in the last four days. Along with this, the positivity rate has also increased from 2 percent to about 6. According to the World Health Organization, more than 5 percent of the positivity rate is a sign of danger. Experts say that cases are increasing in Delhi every now and then. The reason for this is that there is a constant mutation in the virus and new variants are coming. These variants are infecting people.
Cases are increasing with two new sub variants
Two new sub-variants of the Omicron variant of Corona have been confirmed in Delhi. In the genome sequencing of samples of corona infected at ILBS Institute, Omicron sub variants BA.2.38 and BA.2.37 (Omicron Sub Variant BA.2.38) have been found. Both these variants are similar to other sub-variants of Omicron such as BA.5 and BA.4. Only mild symptoms have been seen in infected patients.
COVID expert Dr. Yudhveer Singh says that there may be a slight increase in the cases of corona in Delhi in the coming days. Some people may get infected with the new variants and this will increase the cases, although there will be no danger from these variants. Because these are all variants of Omicron itself.
Elderly and sick people be careful
Dr. says that cases may increase in the coming days. In such a situation, the elderly and people suffering from chronic disease need to be careful. If carelessness is not taken then these people can come in the grip of infection. All variants of Omicron may not cause severe symptoms, but it is still infecting people again. In such a situation, if people with weak immunity come under the grip of infection again, then they may be at risk. In such a situation, it is necessary to protect against corona and strictly follow the COVID protocol.
