Coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in the country. In the last 21 days, the daily number of corona infected has increased by 15 times. However, it is a matter of relief that according to which the cases of corona have increased in the country. There has been no increase in the cases of death in comparison to that. Experts say that it will take time for the peak of the third wave of corona to come across the country.

Whereas, on January 22, a total of 337,704 cases have come and 488 people have died. Even though the cases are increasing rapidly, the death rate is not increasing. Talking about the states, active cases are increasing rapidly in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat. Whereas, active cases are decreasing in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal. At present, Maharashtra and Kerala are reporting the highest number of daily cases in the country. The number of deaths is also increasing in these states. Corona patients are also recovering rapidly. The recovery rate from Corona in the country has become about 94 percent. Corona seems to be coming under control in the capital Delhi and Mumbai in Maharashtra amid increasing cases of corona in the country. Cases are continuously decreasing in both the cities. Along with this, the positivity rate is also decreasing.
Omicron cases are also increasing
The cases of Omicron variant of Corona are also increasing in the country. Omicron’s total number of infected has reached 10.050. The highest number of cases of this variant have been reported in Maharashtra (2199). After this there are cases in West Bengal (1971) and in Rajasthan (1494). Now there is no increase in Omicron’s case in Delhi. A total of 549 cases of Omicron have been reported in the capital so far. However, according to which the cases of corona are increasing. In comparison, the cases of the Omicron variant are being reported much less. Dr Jugal Kishore of Safdarjung Hospital says that genome sequencing of all corona samples is not done in the country. Only those samples which have high viral load are sent for testing. This is the reason why not many cases of Omicron are being confirmed.
The pace of infection may decrease by February
AIIMS doctor Yudhveer Singh says that at present the peak of corona has not come in the country. The exact assessment of the situation will be possible only after a few days. For the time being, it has to be seen at what speed the cases of corona increase in the coming one week. Only after that something can be said about the peak. However, looking at the state of infection in the states, it seems that the pace of infection will start decreasing in February.
