However, nothing was ever said on this whole controversy from the side of the filmmakers. Now the film’s director Siddharth Anand has spoken on the saffron bikini controversy for the first time. He said that he was not doing anything wrong, so he had no fear.
Why was saffron chosen for Deepika’s bikini?
Siddharth Anand said in an interview given to News18 that there was no specific reason behind choosing the saffron colour. This color was good to see, so it was included in the costume. The shooting of this song was happening in Spain. There was sunshine in the background and there was a field with green grass. The color of the water was absolutely blue. The saffron color looked great on this background. Keeping this in mind, we chose this color. Siddharth further said, ‘We knew that when the audience will see the film, they will understand that our intention was not at all wrong.’

Wasn’t wrong so why fear?
Siddharth said during the conversation that even though there was a lot of controversy before the release of the film, we knew that we had done nothing wrong. That’s why all the members associated with the film remained silent on this whole controversy. Similar noise was being made about the film.
Why was there a controversy over the song ‘Besharam Rang’?
In fact, in Pathan’s song Besharam Rang, Deepika Padukone was shown in a saffron colored bikini. People said that saffron is a sacred color of Hindus and it is not right to use it for bikini. These colors are the symbol of Hinduism, but looking at both the colors and the lyrics in the song, it seems that Hinduism is being insulted.
