Why did Dileep eat jail air?
The late Hindi cinema actor Dilip Kumar made everyone crazy on the basis of his acting. Bollywood's biggest veteran Dilip Kumar has been a fan of brilliant performance. During his era, he gave more than one film. Dilip managed to win the hearts of fans with many of his films and acting. Born before the independence of India, Dilip Kumar saw many people struggling for independence in front of his eyes and during this time he himself stood against the British in many freedom movement. Once he had done something that the police had arrested him and sent him to jail. Dileep stayed in jail all night and was also sitting on hunger strike with others.
Why was Dilip Kumar jail?
Dilip Kumar was born on 11 December 1922 in Peshawar, Pakistan. During the freedom struggle with the British, Dilip Kumar once gave a speech against the British rule. It has also been mentioned in Dilip Kumar's book 'The Substance and the Shadow'. Dileep was arrested by the police and sent to jail. The actor wrote in his book, “I had put me in Jervada Jail due to giving anti -British speech. Where many other satyagrahi were shut down.”
Sit on hunger strike
Dilip Kumar further told in the book that during that time the Satyagrahis were called 'Gandhiwala' and they were also called Gandhiwala. According to the actor, he was also sitting on hunger strike with other prisoners and satyagrahis. But, he had to spend only one night in the jail, because the next morning a major came to his life and he was released from jail.
Died in 2021
Dilip Kumar, who has worked in more than one Bollywood films, is no longer in this world. The veteran actor died on 7 July 2021. He breathed his last at the age of 98 at the PD Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.
