Pratik Gandhi’s web series Scam 1992 was very much liked. The story of Harshad Mehta was shown in this series. Who had made people rich overnight through the stock market. At the same time, he had fraud of crores from many famous banks of the country. Recently a bank accused of defaming itself by the series scam 1992.
An FIR was lodged against Sony Pictures Network India in Pune. In which he had accused the bank of defaming the series. The Bombay High Court has today stayed the investigation in this FIR.
Bombay High Court imposed stay
The Bombay High Court has stayed the investigation into the FIR lodged by the Karad Urban Co-operative Bank. After the FIR was registered, Sony Pictures moved the court and sought quashing of the FIR. On this demand, a bench of Justices SS Shinde and Justice NJ Jamadar has given interim relief till September 17 on the petition quashing the FIR.
An FIR was lodged against Sony Pictures on 4 July 2021. The FIR was lodged under Section 500 of the IPC, Section 102, 107 of the Trademark Act and Sections 66C and 43B of the Cotton Technology Act.
In the FIR, the bank has said that in the third episode of the series, a logo has been shown which looks like the bank’s trademark. The bank is suffering a lot because of this logo.
