Congress MP Shashi Tharoor (Shashi Tharoor) On Tuesday, without naming names, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri (Vivek Agnihotri) and veteran actor Anupam Kher (Anupam Kher) But his late wife Sunanda Pushkar was cast in the film ‘The Kashmir Files’. (The Kashmir Files) Targeted for “dragging” on Twitter between the trio. Actually, the film has been banned in Singapore for being “inflammatory” and “one-sided”. Earlier, the Thiruvananthapuram MP took to Twitter to share a news report and wrote, “The film #KashmirFiles promoted by the ruling party of India has been banned in Singapore.” Now there is a lot of rhetoric going on on this tweet.

Vivek Agnihotri hit back at Tharoor

Responding to Tharoor’s tweet, the film’s director Vivek Agnihotri shared a list of famous films that have been banned in Singapore but have been appreciated across the world. Singapore has been called “the most regressive censor in the world”. Tagging Tharoor, Agnihotri tweeted, “Dear Fopdoodle, Gyannab Shashi Tharoor, FYI, Singapore is the most regressive censor in the world.” Agnihotri further added that, “It also banned The Last Temptations of Jesus Christ (Ask Your Madam). Even a romantic film called #TheLeelaHotelFiles will be banned. Please stop making fun of Kashmiri Hindu genocide.”

Tharoor asked to apologize to Sunanda Pushkar’s soul

In another tweet, the director asked if Sunanda Pushkar was a Kashmiri Hindu? If yes, then the Congress MP should delete his tweet and apologize to Sunanda’s soul. Agnihotri wrote, “Hey Shashi Tharoor, is it true that the late Sunanda Pushkar was a Kashmiri Hindu? Is Enclosed SS True? If yes, then according to Hindu tradition, to honor the dead, you should delete your tweet and apologize to their souls.

Anupam Kher also jumped into the controversy and shared a screenshot of the late Sunanda Pushkar’s Twitter thread and asked Tharoor to “show some sensitivity towards Kashmiri Pandits for Sunanda’s sake”.

Anupam Kher also slammed Tharoor

Anupam Kher tweeted, “Dear Shashi Tharoor, Your indifference towards the massacre of Kashmiri Hindus is sad. If nothing else, remembering his late wife Sunanda, who was a Kashmiri herself, would have shown some sensitivity towards Kashmiri Pandits and would not have been so happy about the country banning #TheKashmirFiles.

Later, issuing a statement on Twitter, the Congress leader said, “I tweeted a factual news story this morning, with no comment on its content or on the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ which I have not seen.” “I have never ‘joked’ or insulted the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, whose plight I am well aware of and to whom I have drawn attention time and again over the years,” he said.

Tharoor upset over Sunanda’s name being named

Tharoor wrote that, “It was unfair and contemptuous to drag my late wife Sunanda into this matter. No one knows more about his thoughts than me. I accompanied him to the ruined ruins of his ancestral home at Bomaike near Sopore and interacted with him. His Kashmiri neighbors and friends, both Muslims and Hindus. I know a lot, unlike those who try to exploit her when she is no longer there to speak for herself: she believed in reconciliation, not hatred”.
