Anurag Thakur said that veteran filmmaker Satyajit Ray (Satyajit Ray) K’s classic film ‘Pratidwandi’ and Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry’ and five other films will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said on Wednesday that India will be promoted as the ‘content hub of the world’ during the one-hour conference India Forum. Eminent personalities from the entertainment sector will also participate in this conference. Anurag Thakur said that India is also going to screen five films in the ‘Goes to Cannes section’.

Not only this, India will also be honored with the ‘Country of Honor’ this year at the Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 17 to 25. Speaking on this, Anurag Thakur said that the selection of India as the Country of Honor coincides with the 75th year of independence, 75th anniversary of France-India diplomatic relations and 75th edition of Cannes Film Festival. The country is getting the honor for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival and it is a very special honor.

Among the films that will be screened by India is Baghjan in the language of Assam, which is based on the gas leak tragedy. Apart from this, Shailendra Sahu’s ‘Bailadeela’, Ektara Collective’s ‘Ek Place Apni’, Harshad Nalwade’s ‘Follower’ and Jai Shankar’s ‘Shivamma’ are included. Let us inform that on May 18, the Indian Pavilion with the theme ‘India the Content Hub of the World’ will be inaugurated. The next day i.e. on May 19, the films are to be premiered.
