Bollywood’s famous lyricist and script writer Javed Akhtar is often seen to be a part of controversies due to his statements. Javed Akhtar is known for his work as well as his outspokenness. But many times his statements overshadow him as well. Javed Akhtar had compared RSS to Taliban during one of his interviews. Due to which a Mumbai court had sent a notice to him. Now Javed Akhtar has filed an appeal against the summons of the court.
In fact, according to this summon, Javed Akhtar had to appear in the court on 6 February. But even before February 6, Javed Akhtar has demanded a ban on this summon. This notice was sent to him by the Mulund Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Mumbai. A criminal complaint has been registered against Javed Akhtar under sections 499 and 500 of the IPC. Taking cognizance of which he was ordered to appear in the court.

Let me tell you, during one of his old interviews, on September 3, 2021, Javed Akhtar presented his opinion on the rise of Taliban in Afghanistan. In this interview Javed Akhtar compared Taliban to RSS. He had said that Taliban are very barbaric, their actions are highly condemnable. Although Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh in India are similar to Taliban. His statement was opposed in the whole country.
Following his statement, the complainant, who claimed to be an RSS supporter, alleged that Javed Akhtar unnecessarily dragged the name of the RSS into controversy for political gains and defamed it in a systematic manner. At the same time, advocate Santosh Dubey also alleged that Javed Akhtar’s alleged statement was an attempt to defame the RSS. After going through all the arguments and documents, Metropolitan Magistrate PK Raut issued summons to Javed Akhtar in the process.
