Suchitra was an actress who rejected films ranging from the greatest filmmaker. The actress turned down the offer of the film even to Raj Kapoor. Suchitra did this because he did not like the way Raj Kapoor bowed down and gave him flowers. Not only this, legendary filmmaker Satyajit Rai wanted to take in ‘Devi Chaudhurani’, but the actress refused.
Patalkar did not see after leaving the movies
In 1947, the actress married Dibanath Sen and after 5 years of marriage, the actress stepped into films and rescued the good ones from acting sixes. After ‘Pranoy Loop’ in 1978, the actress took a big decision and said goodbye to the film world forever. It is said that the actress never appeared in public after leaving the movies.
Dada Saheb Phalke rejected
Bollywood’s biggest honor is the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is the dream of every star. Not one veteran actor has been able to achieve this honor. But, do you know that in the year 2005, the proposal of Dadasaheb Phalke Award was rejected by Suchitra Sen just because he had to leave Kolkata and go to Delhi. Queen of hit films
The pair of Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen was the most famous pair in Bengali cinema. Together, they presented one to one unique films in front of the fans. Films like ‘Agnipariksha’, ‘Shap Mochan’, ‘Indrani’, ‘Saptapadi’ are included in the list. Between 1953 and 1978, Suchitra did 61 films in Hindi and Bengali together.
Padma Shri Suchitra died on 17 January 2014. Everyone was saddened by the demise of the actress. During his funeral, he was given a cannon salute in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
