UPSC IAS Prelims Exam 2021: One of the biggest examinations of the country, UPSC’s prelims exam will be conducted today i.e. on 10 October 2021. In such a situation, the candidates who have applied for IAS, IFS and IPS can check the guidelines issued for the examination by visiting the official website- upsc.gov.in.

The Civil Services Preliminary Examination was earlier scheduled to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on June 27 but it was postponed due to COVID. Officers for UPSC Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) will be selected through this exam.

The exam is conducted in three stages

The Civil Service Examination for the selection of IAS, IFS and IPS is conducted every year in three phases. It consists of prelims, mains and personal interview. There are 2 papers in prelims which will be multiple choice.

Prelims exam will be held with these rules

  • All the candidates will have to wear masks and strictly follow other covid prevention guidelines including social distance rules.
  • Use of mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic device or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watch, camera or bluetooth device or any other device is prohibited in the examination hall.
  • Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has advised candidates not to carry any valuable or costly items to the examination venue.
  • Admission will not be given without the admit card. Do carry the admit card with you.
  • Along with the admit card, also bring your original photo ID proof. You can bring Aadhar Card, Voter ID, License, Passport in ID Proof.
  • Reach the exam center 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. The gates will be closed 10 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
  • Candidates must carry black ball point pen with them to fill the OMR sheet and attendance sheet.
  • Candidates who have opted for scribe to help them in writing the exam will be allowed with separate scribe admit card. The e-admit card of the scribe will be issued separately.
  • Bring your mask, sanitizer and a transparent bottle of water with you.
