Union Public Service Commission (UPSCThe Civil Services Examination conducted by ) is considered to be one of the toughest exams. For its coaching, students also pay fees of lakhs of rupees. However, there are many institutes where coaching is given free of cost. There is a system of free coaching in many states as well. UPSC free coaching is also given to the students in Odisha. The Odisha Higher Education Department has planned to provide free coaching and guidelines to the candidates aspiring to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exam.
Odisha government will provide free UPSC coaching to 200 youth every year. Dhirendra Nath Kar, Joint Secretary, Higher Education Department, in a letter directed the General Manager, OCAC to prepare a new module for UPSC Civil Services Coaching Enrollment under the SAMS portal. Food and lodging arrangements for 200 candidates will also be made by the department. They will be given coaching for both prelims and mains exam. However, the enrollment for coaching will be done through the entrance exam.

However, these 200 candidates will be selected through a qualifying exam. It will be organized on 26 February. Official website of the Higher Education Department to register for the entrance exam and download the admit card www.dhe.odisha.gov.in will go on.
Last year, the Higher Education Department provided free coaching to candidates who cleared the prelims of the civil services exam. Only Odia students studying in any educational institute within the state can register for the entrance exam. Free coaching will be given only to the candidates who pass the entrance exam.
However, candidates who cleared the UPSC Prelims exam last year did not have to appear for the entrance exam for free coaching as they were given direct admission in coaching. Last year, free coaching was given only to those candidates whose annual family income did not exceed Rs 10 lakh.
