The journey to enter the Indian Administrative Service ie IAS is going to change a bit. Now if you want to become an IAS officer, then you may have to spend more time in villages. In this regard, the Central Government has presented a report in the Parliament. After passing UPSC Civil Services Exam IAS Training This will apply to the candidates going to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. Know what has been said in this report?
This report was presented in the winter session of Parliament, which has been prepared on the basis of the recommendations given in the 112th Report of the Committee on Demands for Grants of the Department of Personnel. The Parliamentary Committee was informed about this by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). It said that the IAS Training Academy ie LBSNAA is exploring options to make the Village Stay Module 3 weeks during the District Training Phase.
It is obvious that if this change is approved then the candidates going for IAS training after passing the UPSC exam will have to spend 3 weeks in villages and remote areas during their training. Currently, the duration of the Village Stay module is only one week.
What is IAS Training Village Stay Module?
After passing UPSC Civil Services, 53 weeks training is given to the candidates to be taken in IAS. Out of this, one week they have to stay in tribal areas, remote villages and inaccessible areas. During this, trainee IAS officers talk to organizations working in those villages, Anganwadi workers, ANMs, social health workers, teachers and others.
This is done so that Trainee IAS Officers can understand the ground level functioning. To be aware of the lifestyle of those villagers and people living in difficult conditions, their problems.
The Standing Committee report said that LBSNAA needs to change its training program slightly. So that the new officers can be sensitive to the needs of the common people and their problems. Especially towards such sections who have not been able to join the mainstream.
