Minister Parshottam Rupala said, animal husbandry, along with veterinary science, veterinary medicine is a state subject. Therefore, public employment of veterinary doctors according to their requirement is the responsibility of the state government. He said that as per the information received by the States/UTs, the sanctioned posts of veterinarians across the country as on January 31, 2023 are 35,745, while the vacant posts are 9,090.
When will be the appointment?
Rupala further said, no reports of large scale animal deaths due to lack of veterinary services/facilities have been received from the states, yet reports of animal deaths affected by Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) are expected in FY 2022-23. received during.
