Giving this information, the officials said that a record 16.14 lakh students had registered for NEET this year. Last year, more than 85 percent of the registered students appeared in the exam amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

A senior official said that following all the guidelines of COVID-19, more than 95 percent students appeared in the examination held on Sunday. Keeping in mind the rules of Corona, social distancing was specially followed during the examination. The number of examination rooms in the designated centers has also been increased. Not more than 12 candidates were seated in a room. Along with this, masks, sanitizers were given to the students. Apart from this, sanitizer and handwash was also in the examination hall. All the examination centers were sanitized twice before and after the examination.

Petition was filed in the court to postpone the examination

In view of the Corona epidemic, NEET examinations were being postponed continuously, but this time the government had decided to conduct it on 12 September. Although a petition was also filed in the court to postpone it, but the court rejected the petition. The court said that more than 16 lakh students are going to take part in the NEET exam. It cannot be avoided on the plea of ​​some students.

At the same time, the Supreme Court also dismissed the writ petition, which sought postponement and rescheduling of NEET UG 2021 examination after the announcement of CBSE compartment, private, correspondence examinations. The Supreme Court had said that the examination will be held on September 12 as per the schedule.
