First of all registration has to be done for admission, after which the list of selected students is released by the central school. There are about 3 lists every year. If the seats are left vacant in the first list, then the second list is removed and if the seats are not filled even from the second list, then the third list is issued. Children do not have to take any written test or interview for admission in class 1 of Kendriya Vidyalaya. Parents of children also do not have to give interviews. The seats in the Kendriya Vidyalaya are filled through a lottery system. In this too, the number of seats is reserved according to many categories. Admission of 40 children takes place in a section. Out of this, admission is given to 27 percent or 11 seats for OBC, 15 percent or 6 seats for SC, 7.5 percent or 3 seats for ST and 25 percent or 10 seats for poor and deprived children.
