JNU reopens for research students from today.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has opened for the third year PhD scholars from today. The institute will open from September 27 for the final year students of MSc and MBA. After the situation of COVID-19 in Delhi improved, the Delhi government had given permission to open schools, colleges and coaching institutes from class 9th to 12th from September 1. JNU had earlier said that the university would be opened in a phased manner. The campus was opened on September 6 for PhD scholars who have to submit their thesis by the end of this year.
JNU, in an order on Wednesday, said it would allow third year PhD scholars to enter the campus from Thursday. These include the researchers living in the hostel. Apart from this, it has been said in the order that buses will be allowed to enter the premises from Thursday.
According to the order, “In order to avoid overcrowding, it has been decided to decentralize the process of issuance of ID cards from the Security Office. ID cards will be issued to the students at the school/special center level.” It said that final year MSc and MBA and fourth year BTech students will be allowed to enter the campus from September 27.
