Unit-Wise Detailed Analysis
NCERT Books is your trusted companion for CBSE 10th Board Exam 2023. Most of the questions in the exam are based on textbook exercises and the rest are equal in terms of difficulty. There are total 15 chapters in the NCERT book. Let us know what you do not have to study for CBSE Class 10 Maths Board Exam 2023.
- Chapter 1: From real numbers, the board has reduced page numbers from 2 to 7 and from 15 to 8. Means Section 1.2 Euclid’s Division Lemma and Section 1.5 Revisiting Rational Numbers and Their Decimal Expansions have been removed from the syllabus this year. Hence question numbers 2, 4 and 5 from Exercise 1.1 are not in your syllabus except for example 2, 3.
- Chapter 2: Page numbers 33 to 37 in Polynomials are not in the syllabus. That is, the division algorithm has been deleted. So there is no need to prepare beyond page 33. Exercise 2.3 is not to be solved from exam point of view.
- Chapter 3: In Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables, ‘Cross Multiplication Method’ has been removed from the syllabus. So do not use this method to solve questions.
- Chapter 4: In Quadratic Equations section 4.4 Solution of a Quadratic Equation by Completing the Square is deleted, so Example 8, 9 and Exercise 4.3 Question No. 1 is not to be attempted. This is an important chapter from the exam point of view, so leave the square method and practice as many questions as possible.
- Chapter 5: Nothing is deleted from Arithmetic Progression. Important chapter, read it completely.
- Chapter 6: Beyond page number 141 in Triangles i.e. Exercise 6.4 and 6.5 is not in the syllabus.
- Chapter 7: Area of Triangle is not in the syllabus in Co-ordinate Geometry. So no need to proceed from page number 168, skip exercise 7.3.
- Chapter 8: Page numbers 187 to 190 and 193 to 194 from Introduction to Trigonometry i.e. section 8.4 Trigonometric ratios of complementary Angles is not a part of the syllabus.
- Chapter 9: Nothing has been deleted. The board has reduced 9.1 introduction from the syllabus. But it is necessary to read it to understand the concept.
- Chapter 10: Nothing has been deleted from Circles, read full.
- Chapter 11: Constructions – The entire chapter has been removed from the syllabus. Leave it.
- Chapter 12: In Area Related to Circles, page numbers 223 to 226 and 231 to 238 are not in the syllabus.
- Chapter 13: Page numbers 248 to 259 have been deleted in Surface Areas and Volumes. That is, do not read Exercises 13.3 and 13.4.
- Chapter 14: From Statistics 14.5 page numbers 289 to 294 i.e. Graphical Representation of Cumulative Frequency Distribution i.e. Exercise 14.4 is not part of the syllabus.
- Chapter 15: Nothing is deleted from Probability. Read all the examples and exercises carefully.
