The Gujarat High Court has dismissed a PIL filed against the state government’s decision to conduct offline examinations for re-appearing and non-regular students of class 10th and 12th.
Gujarat Board will conduct the examination of private and re-examination students.
The Gujarat High Court on Tuesday dismissed a PIL filed against the state government’s decision to conduct offline examinations for re-appearing and non-regular students of class 10th and 12th in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Chief Justice Vikram Nath said, ‘We are not here to lower the standards of education, but we want the standards to be improved. So let the re-examers and non-regular students sit in the exam, let them study and let them pass the exam.
A division bench of Chief Justice Nath and Justice Biren Vaishnav said the sooner the examinations are held, the better it will be for the students as they can take admission in colleges before it is too late. The state government told the court that it has made elaborate arrangements to conduct the examination.
Public prosecutor Manisha Luv Kumar told the court that 2,916 school buildings have been earmarked for examinations beginning July 15. “Very few students will take the examination of all subjects, and as far as the pandemic is concerned.” Fortunately we are in the best position where the infection rate (currently) is very low.
West Bengal Board’s 12th result will be released on this date
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will release the class 12 result on July 22 by the board. If a student is not satisfied with his/her result, he/she will be allowed to appear in the examination after the epidemic situation improves.
