Question 1: FATF has suspended the membership of which country?
answer : The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has suspended Russia’s membership. It is alleged that Russia has violated FATF principles amid the war with Ukraine. Ukraine praised FATF’s decision to suspend Russia. FATF’s secretariat is at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development headquarters in Paris. It is an intergovernmental policy-making body that aims to formulate and promote national and international policies to fight money laundering and the financing of terrorism, as well as set worldwide standards. It was established in 1989 during the G-7 summit.
Question 2: In the financial year 2022-23, how much amount was sent by the central government to people’s accounts through direct transfer?
answer : The amount of various subsidies and concessions transferred to the recipients through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) has reached almost Rs 5.5 trillion so far in the financial year 2022-23. This amount is almost equal to FY 2021 and 13% less than the total achievement of FY 2022. This year it is expected to cross Rs 6.3 trillion. In this, farmers have received fertilizer subsidy of Rs 1.9 trillion. Under the Public Distribution System (PDS), a subsidy of Rs 1.5 trillion has been given to the needy through food grains in FY 2023 so far.
Question 3: How many planes will Air India buy from which company for the biggest aircraft deal?
answer : Air India CEO Campbell Wilson, owned by the Tata Group, said that a record 470 aircraft deal with Airbus and Boeing Company has been done for $ 70 billion. Air India had earlier this month announced tentative deals for 220 aircraft from Boeing and 250 from Airbus but did not disclose the amount. Wilson said the airline plans to fund the order with a combination of resources including internal cash flow, shareholder equity and the sale and leaseback of aircraft. Air India is inducting 500 cabin crew every month. The airlines is going to recruit over 4,200 cabin crew and 900 pilots.
Question 4: Which actor has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Pepsi by PepsiCo India?
answer : PepsiCo India has signed actor Ranveer Singh to endorse its flagship cold drink brand Pepsi. Singh joins the growing league of Pepsi’s celebrity endorsers. In 2019, the brand signed actor Salman Khan. In January, Pepsi announced that it had signed Kannada actor Yash as its brand ambassador. According to the report of Duff & Phelps, Ranveer’s brand value was $ 158.3 million in the year 2021. Singh was the second most valuable brand in the ranking after cricketer Virat Kohli. Ranveer endorses 45 brands.
Question 5: RBL Bank has joined hands with which organization to make export-import easier?
answer : RBL Bank has signed an agreement with India Exim Bank to facilitate cross border commercial operations with the intention of facilitating export-import under Trade Assistance Program (TAP). The Export-Import Bank Assistance Program for Cross Border Transactions is intended to facilitate India’s exports globally by providing credit enhancement to trade instruments. The agreement was signed on February 27, 2023 in the presence of Ms. Harsh B. Bangari, Managing Director, India Exim Bank and Mr. R. Subramaniakumar, MD & CEO, RBL Bank.

Question 6: Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate is the initiative of which countries?
answer : The Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate is a joint initiative of the US and the UAE. It aims to address hunger and climate change. This will be achieved by inviting countries and other private organizations to invest in innovative and climate-smart agricultural systems. The mission will showcase the benefits of collective commitment. It aims to increase investments in smart agriculture, innovative agricultural technologies and food systems. Framework will be created to promote knowledge, expertise and technical discussions. This will be achieved by increasing national and international level investment.
Question 7: Which player has won the FIFA 2022 Award?
answer : Lionel Messi of Argentina has won the Best FIFA Men’s Player award for 2022. Messi won the trophy by defeating his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema. Messi was named the winner of the Best FIFA Men’s Player Award for his outstanding performance in men’s football for the period from 8 August 2021 to 18 December 2022. Messi made his first appearance in FIFA in 2007. Messi has now also won the FIFA World Player of the Year title in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2023.
Question 8: Which border has Pakistan-Afghanistan reopened?
answer : Pakistan has reopened the Torkham border. With the opening of the border, the movement of stranded vehicles has started. Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan were not going well due to the attacks of terrorist organization TTP, due to which this border was closed in the past. Because of this, thousands of trucks carrying food got stuck on the Torkham border trade route. Torkham crossing border is an important trade route for Pakistan. It connects Pakistan with Central Asian countries. On the previous day, Torkham was closed by the Afghan Taliban. Earlier, Pakistan had reopened the Torkham border for pedestrians only, while 7,000 trucks carrying perishable goods like vegetables, poultry and eggs were left stranded.

Question 9: What is Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)?
answer : Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) focuses on the employees. It gives workers ownership in the company in the form of shares of stock. It has many benefits. The scheme is being discussed because personal care brand Pilgrim has announced its first ESOP scheme. The company said it has earmarked 10 per cent shares in the ESOP pool for 100 per cent of its employees. Pilgrim aims to involve the employees in the growth journey of the company with the ESOP scheme. ESOP scheme will be given to the employees in addition to their salary.
