At the same time, in the meantime, many states have decided to promote students studying in schools without exams. Many state governments have decided not to conduct examinations in view of the increasing cases of Corona and the safety of students. The Maharashtra government has announced that all the students of class 9 and class 11 will be passed without examination. The government has taken this decision in view of the increasing cases of Corona and the impact on students’ education. Maharashtra’s Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad himself has informed about this. Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has released a video by tweeting. He wrote, “In view of the present situation of corona virus, all the state board students of class 9 and 11 will be promoted to the next class without any examination.”
Students of class 9, 10 and 11 of Tamil Nadu will be promoted without examination. It was announced by Chief Minister Palaniswami himself. He had said, “Students of classes 9, 10 and 11 will be promoted to the next class without taking the exam due to COVID-19 epidemic.”
Recently, the government had said that all students of classes other than class 10 and 12 will be promoted without examination. All schools have been closed till further orders.
The Rajasthan government had announced promotion for primary classes without examination. Students of classes 1 to 5 will be promoted under the Learning Engagement (SMILE) program.
The School and Mass Education Department, Odisha has promoted students from class 1 to class 8 to the next higher classes without examination. The government has also announced remedial classes for the first two to three months in the new academic session. The decision applies to all schools under the Department of School and Public Education.
Assam government has decided to promote students of classes 1 to 9 to the next higher classes without examination. The new academic session started in the schools of Assam from 1 April.
