265 seats of PG Medical / DNB have been given in the hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir. The Center has also announced to give 50 percent reservation to the local people in J&K.

The central government has made many announcements regarding medical studies in Jammu and Kashmir. One of these is to give PG medical seats in the hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir. The Government of India has appointed Diplomate of National Board i.e. in various government hospitals in 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. DNB 265 seats have been given. The Health Ministry said that this decision of the Center will not only benefit the residents of J&K, but also the doctors working there. They will be able to get training in their own field.
The Health Ministry said, ‘The ministry and the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) have gone ahead and ensured that there are medical PG seats in the government hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir. There is a plan to prepare trained medical specialists in every district of the union territory. This will create a local medical workforce and develop a good healthcare system.
J&K Medical PG Seats: Who will get 50% reservation
The government says that this is the first phase. In the second phase, Jammu and Kashmir will be given two more seats of PG medical. Of all these PG seats, 50 percent will be reserved for local serving doctors.
The ministry said in its statement that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will benefit from this step of the Center. They will be able to get modern, good and affordable health facilities in almost all the districts. ‘With a vision to provide trained specialists to almost every district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India has taken it up as a challenge in mission mode.’
Apart from this, the Government of India has also decided to increase the number of examination centers in Jammu and Kashmir. The government says that if there are more exam centers, then the candidates will not have to travel to other states for the examinations. In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Health for All, the government has allowed 265 seats for Diplomate of National Board (DNB) postgraduate medical courses in several government hospitals in 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
In addition to PG, in medical UG courses, MBBS and BDS, the Center has also decided to give reservation to terror victims in Jammu and Kashmir.
