Admit card of CAT exam will come on October 27

CAT Exam 2021: Common Admission Test is organized for admission in top management institutes of the country. The news of work has come out for the candidates who have applied for the CAT exam. The admit cards for the CAT exam will be issued on October 27. IIM Ahmedabad will conduct CAT exam on November 28.

Many changes have also been made this year in the Common Admission Test. Earlier the last date to apply for this exam was 15th September. This was extended till 5:00 pm on 22 September 2021. It is necessary for the candidates applying in this to have complete knowledge of the exam pattern.

Exam Pattern

IIM Ahmedabad (IIM, Ahmedabad) will conduct the exam on November 28. Last year a total of 76 questions were asked. This year the possibilities are being raised that 64 to 68 questions can be asked in CAT. The questions will be asked in three parts. Questions will come from Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Reading, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. Students will be given 40-40 minutes to solve each section.

Persons with Disabilities (PH candidates) will get additional time of 13 minutes 20 seconds to solve the questions. 20 to 24 questions will be asked from each section. The paper will have both multiple choice and non multiple choice questions. There will be a provision of negative marking in MCQs and there will be no negative marking in non-MCQs.

IIM Ahmedabad first choice for Generation 1

The IIMs that come in the first generation are 462 in Calcutta, 385 in Ahmedabad, 565 in Bengaluru, 419 in Lucknow, 525 in Kozhikode and 600 seats in Indore in all programs. Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta are included in the priority in terms of choice of students.

Only CAT percentile score is not important for admission in IIMs. Personal Interview, Group Discussion and Written Ability Test conducted by different IIMs at their respective levels are also important. Due to COVID, for the second consecutive year, the Common Admission Test will be of two hours. This year also the exam will be conducted on the same lines as last year. Meaning, there will be no paper on the pre-covid pattern.
