Due to the heat in West Bengal, the West Bengal Education Department has announced to extend the holidays in schools from June 15 to June 26. Now schools will open on June 27.
In view of the increasing heat situation in the state, the Government of West Bengal has issued a notification to the school students (West BengalSchool) has announced to extend the summer holidays. As per earlier announcement, summer vacations in schools (Summer Vacation) was expiring on June 15, but the West Bengal Education Department has extended the school holidays till June 26 in other parts of the state except Darjeeling and Kalimpang. Now schools will open on June 27. Please tell that the government of Mamta Banerjee (Mamata Banerjee Government) had already announced summer vacation on May 2 in schools due to scorching heat. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a high-level meeting with top officials at the state secretariat on April 27, after which a decision was taken to postpone the summer vacations earlier.
Let us tell you that there is still heavy heat in the districts of West Bengal, especially in South Bengal. On Sunday, a painful accident took place at the Panihati Dahi Fair of North 24 Parganas due to heat and three people died in the scorching heat.
