There is good news for the youth preparing for civil service exam. Now you will get more chances to try your luck in Civil Services. Because the government has increased the age limit in the Civil Services Examination. This is a big decision of the state government. The cabinet has approved the proposal regarding increasing the Civil Service Exam Age Limit. The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has increased the upper age limit for candidates appearing in the state civil services examination to 35 years. While the maximum age limit has been increased to 40 for the candidates of Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. An officer gave this information.
This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
When will the new rule be applicable
The cabinet has approved amendment in Rule 3 of the Arunachal Civil Services and Civil Posts (Upper Age Limit for Direct Recruitment) Rules. According to this, now the Upper Age Limit for the State Civil Services Examination is 35 years for the general category and up to 40 years for the ST category candidates of the state will be able to give the Civil Service Exam.
In this regard, an official release has been issued in the state. Accordingly, the proposed upper age limit will also apply to all those candidates who have applied for the Direct Recruitment Examination. But the exam was either canceled or postponed by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) during 2022 due to administrative reasons.
This benefit will be given to the candidates from the last date of receipt of applications with reference to the advertisements issued by APPSC for the respective examinations.
Khandu had announced on November 22 last year that the maximum age limit for APPSC Exams would be increased by three years. The current age limit for direct recruitment to civil services and civil posts in the state government is 32 years. Scheduled Tribe candidates of the state have been given a relaxation of five years.
