Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has announced that it is going to recruit 5000 people for teaching and non-teaching category jobs during the coming four months. The process to fill these vacant posts has already started. until February next year NVS Recruitment Under the recruitment process will be completed. According to NVS, due to the filling of these vacant posts, educational reforms will be seen in the schools as well. Through this, the student-teacher ratio will also be achieved.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti works to manage the schools of Navodaya Group. This committee works under the authority of the Ministry of Education. The ministry has disclosed that some of the posts to be filled under the recruitment drive are lying vacant since the last round of promotion. Some other posts have also been created. In July, the Ministry of Education said that as of 2021, 3156 teaching posts in Navodaya Vidyalayas were lying vacant. The job of managing these posts rests with the central government. The highest number of vacancies were in Jharkhand, where there were 230 vacancies.
The Ministry of Education tweeted, ‘The Navodaya Vidyalaya Sangathan, affiliated to the Ministry of Education, has announced to provide about five thousand jobs in four months. These posts will be of both teaching and non-teaching categories. There are around 700 residential Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country.
Recruitment will be done keeping in mind the NEP
In Navodaya Vidyalaya, the step is being taken keeping in mind the implementation of the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The NEP stipulates that the student-teacher ratio should be maintained at 30:1 in every school in the country. The policy also states that the student-teacher ratio should be less than 25:1 in areas with a large number of socio-economically disadvantaged students.
What are Navodaya Vidyalayas?
Navodaya Vidyalayas are co-educational residential schools established to provide opportunities to meritorious students to study in rural areas. NVS currently operates around 700 residential schools spread across the country. These schools follow the syllabus prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Navodaya Vidyalaya provides free residential quality education to meritorious students from class VI to XII.
