If the government decides to close down schools with low enrollment in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, at least 1300 schools will be affected by it. There is an apprehension that if under quality improvement and financial economy in the state, people with less than 20 class Schools If the intention of the government to shut down is successful, then about 1300 schools of Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad alone are going to be affected. The decline of Zilla Parishad schools is a matter of concern. Actually, there are 1345 primary schools of Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad, where the number of students is between 0 and 20.
At the same time, there are 249 schools where the number of students studying is between 0 and 5. The government is collecting data on the number of students, the number of accepted teachers and non-teaching staff, the adjustment of additional teachers, the number of schools with 0 to 20 students, the number of schools closed and low-income schools closed. Earlier also the students of some schools were accommodated by the government in the nearest school.
Schools fall in spite of quality
28 schools in Ratnagiri district have already been closed. At present, there are more than 72 thousand students in 2446 schools of class I to VIII of Zilla Parishad. Despite the quality, many schools are in decline. In such a situation, along with the administration, the teachers have to work hard to maintain them.

There are 1446 primary schools in Ratnagiri, where the number of students is from 0 to 20. There are 249 schools where 0 to 5 students are studying. There are 420 schools with 6 to 10 students, 392 schools with 11 to 15 students and 285 schools with 16 to 20 students. At the same time, there are 1148 schools in the district where more than 20 students are studying.
Meanwhile, the Education Department said that the Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad Primary Education Department has not yet received a letter regarding the closure of low-income schools.
