What is Defense Corridor?
Defense corridor is a route, which includes many cities. Industry is developed in these cities for the manufacture of military goods, where many companies take part. Public sector, private sector and MSAE companies will participate in this corridor.
All those industrial institutions also participate in this corridor, which make army goods. After the corridor is built, items ranging from weapons to uniforms will be made here.
In the budget speech in 2018-19, the Finance Minister had announced the creation of two Defense Industrial Corridors in the country. Of these, the first is being built in five cities of Tamil Nadu and the second in six cities of Uttar Pradesh.
In Uttar Pradesh, there are plans to build defense corridors in Aligarh, Agra, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Kanpur and Lucknow. The Defense Corridor that has been built in Aligarh is very important from the point of view of business. It has been prepared at a cost of 1500 crores.

Bullet proof jackets, drones, fighter aircraft, helicopters, cannon and its shells, missiles, various types of guns etc. will be made in the Defense Corridor. The Defense Corridor will help in making the country self-reliant in the field of defense production and promote Make in India.
