This investment will be made over the next seven years i.e. from 2022 to 2028.
Under this agreement, an investment of Rs 50,000 crore will be made over seven years. With this, thousands of people will get jobs in the state. The state government will help this company in all ways through single window system.
World Economic Forum underway in Davos (World Economic ForumThe Energy Department has been successful in attracting an investment of Rs 50,000 crore. Energy Minister Dr. Nitin Raut said, this will accelerate the growth of non-conventional energy sector in the state along with creating 30,000 jobs. It is being seen as the biggest investment and achievement in the energy sector. Dr. Raut has been working hard for the last two and a half years to attract more and more investments in the energy sector of the state. As a part of this effort, he is currently attending the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Efforts are being made by the Government of Maharashtra to attract more investors in the energy sector. In this event of the government, the heads of many important companies related to energy were discussed and finally their efforts have got great success. Renew Power Private Limited Company has decided to invest Rs 50,000 crore in the non-conventional energy sector in the state.
Investment to be made in 7 years
An important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between MSEDCL and Gurugram based Renew Power Pvt Ltd. This investment will be made over the next seven years i.e. from 2022 to 2028. The MoU was signed between MSEDCL’s CMD Vijay Singhal and Renew Power’s CMD Sumant Sinha in the presence of Energy Minister Dr Raut and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray.
30,000 job opportunities will be created
Speaking on the occasion, Maharashtra’s Energy Minister Dr. Raut said, “This agreement is a big achievement for the state of Maharashtra and MSEDCL. We are happy that we have been able to attract investment of thousands of crores to the state. This MoU will also create 30,000 employment opportunities in the state.
A power purchase agreement of 200 MW for a period of 25 years has also been signed between MSEDCL and M/s. Renew Power Pvt. Ltd. Under the agreement, Renew Power Limited will supply 200 MW of power to the state through solar, wind, hybrid, battery storage, hydrogen and other options.
The State of Maharashtra will provide all necessary permits, registration process, approvals etc. for the project from the concerned Energy Department to M/s. According to the rules and policies of the state government, the state government will provide all that help to this company through a single window system.
