After this decision of the government, now farmers will be able to buy and sell pulses in any quantity. In fact, this step of the government has been taken to support increasing the production of pulses. After this decision of the government, it is expected that the sowing area of pulses will increase.
The government has also removed the purchase limit of 40 percent on the purchase of pulses. For the year 2023-24, the purchase limit of 40% for Toor Dal, Urad Dal and Masoor Dal is no longer necessary under PAS.

This decision of the government will increase the income of the farmers. In fact, after this step, farmers will be able to procure pulses without limit at the minimum support price. On June 2, the government had decided to impose stock limit on tur and urad pulses. It is believed that with this decision, farmers will now be able to sow in their desired area in the Rabi season. Due to which the production of pulses can be increased.

Aim to become self-sufficient in pulses production
The government is trying to become self-sufficient in the production of pulses. Every year the prices of pulses skyrocket due to stock limit and hoarding. Talking about the year 2022-23, the decline in import of pulses had become a cause of concern. After which the government started emphasizing on increasing the production. Talking about the last calendar year, India had imported about 2.53 million tonnes of pulses. Now it is believed that after this decision the farmers will get relief as well as the worries of the government will also be removed.
