Sufficient stock of coal.

Coal India alone contributes 80 percent of the coal supply in India. It is currently doing record production. In the current financial year, there has been a jump of 28 percent in coal production on a year-on-year basis.

It was some time ago when the power crisis in the country (Power Crisis) Was going on. The biggest reason for this was that the stock of coal was decreasing. However, the government took timely steps and now this problem has been completely resolved. In the financial year 2022-23, India’s coal production is continuously booming. In the current financial year till May 31, the total coal production of the country stood at 137.85 MT as against 104.83 MT in the same period last year. There has been a jump of 28 per cent on a yearly basis. In the financial year 2021-22, the total coal production of the country was 777 metric tonnes.

The government on Sunday said that there are more than 52 million tonnes of coal reserves at various coal mines, which is sufficient to meet the fuel requirement of 24 days of power plants in the country. Just a few weeks ago, energy production was affected due to fuel shortage at various power plants in the country. “As on June 16, 2022, various domestic coal mines have more than 52 million tonnes of coal reserves, which is more than the requirement of power plants for about 24 days,” the Coal Ministry said in a statement.

Coal India is supplying record

In addition, about 4.5 million tonnes of coal is kept at various godowns, private washeries and ports to be sent to power plants. With the increase in production, the highest ever supply is being made by Coal India Limited to the power sector. Rack supply to the power sector increased from 215.8 rakes per day in 2020-21 to 271.9 rakes per day in 2021-22, showing a growth of 26 per cent.

Coal India supplies 80 percent

Coal India alone contributes 80 percent of the coal supply in India. Between April and June 16, Coal India supplied 129.5 MT of coal, compared to 120.6 MT in the same period a year ago. At present, 271.9 rakes of coal are being supplied on a daily basis with the help of railways. This average for the financial year 2020-21 was 215.8 ranks.
