After the commencement of the flight, Alliance Air will be the first domestic carrier in the country to start flights from Greenfield Airport in Konkan region. The greenfield airport got an aerodrome license from aviation safety regulator DGCA last week to start commercial operations. Alliance Air said in a statement, Alliance Air is going to start daily direct flights from Mumbai to Sindhudurg from October 9. This service is being started under the Regional Connectivity Scheme run by the Central Government.
Flight is starting under the scheme of the central government
The Central Government has started the Regional Connectivity Scheme to promote air flight in the country and make domestic air travel accessible. Under this, domestic flight service has been started from small airports of the country. The number of flights may be less, but people are getting the benefit of air service. The focus of the central government is to connect the entire country with the air network. The Regional Connectivity Scheme has been launched in this direction. Alliance Air will deploy its 70-seat ATR 72-600 aircraft for flights between Mumbai and Sindhudurg.
Jyotiraditya Scindia will inaugurate
On 7 September, Union Minister Narayan Rane had said that the Chipi airport located in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra would be inaugurated by Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on 9 October. From this day direct flight service will be started between Sindhudurg and Mumbai. All the preparations related to the flight have been completed. In the recent cabinet expansion, BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh Jyotiraditya Scindia was made the Aviation Minister. After the wave of Corona stops, preparations are in full swing to resume air and international flights in the country. The Sindhudurg-Mumbai flight is a part of this.
