Mukesh Ambani's wealth crosses $100 billion, joins the club of Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk

Mukesh Ambani has become a part of the special list of the world’s richest people.

Mukesh Ambani, the richest person in India and Asia, has become a part of the special club of the world’s richest people. There are veteran businessmen like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk in this list. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he has crossed the $100 billion mark.

Only 11 people in the club

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, has joined this club, in which only 11 people are present. The reason for this is that the shares of his group reached the record on Friday. According to this list, now his net worth is $ 100.6 billion. This year his wealth has increased by $23.8 billion.

In 2005, he got the business of oil refining and petrochemicals from his late father. Mukesh Ambani, aged 64, is trying his best to make the energy company a big retail, technology and e-commerce company. The service of his telecommunications unit Jio started in 2016. And now it has become the largest company in the sector in the Indian market. His retail and technology company raised about $27 billion last year. He sold some of these stakes to investors, ranging from Facebook Inc., Google to KKR & Co and Silver Lake.

Ambani’s big plan in the field of green energy

Ambani had given a big emphasis in the field of green energy in June. He had announced plans to invest about $10 billion over three years. Last month, the veteran businessman had said that his company would work diligently on producing cheaper green oxygen. His plan is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious plan to make India a global manufacturing hub of clean fuel. Its aim is to fight climate change and reduce its energy imports by India, the world’s third largest oil consumer. Ambani’s oil-to-chemical business is now a separate entity, and talks are on to bring the company’s Saudi Arabian oil company as an investor.

India’s billionaire has been the fastest growing person in the list of rich people in the world. India’s stock market has got a boost this year due to increase in Initial Public Offering.
