The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers said that the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the country has increased to 8,366 by October 10, 2021. These centers are spread over 736 districts of the country. The burden of money spent on medicine on the common people should be reduced. Medicines are available 90 percent cheaper
The government has set a target of increasing the number of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras to 10,000 by March 2024, the ministry said in a statement. These centers include 1,451 medicines and 240 surgical products. According to the statement, the prices of medicines available under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana are 50 to 90 percent less than the branded medicines.
The ministry said that in the current financial year till October 10, 2021, BPPI (Bureau of Pharma PSU of India) has sold medicines worth Rs 431.65 crore. This has saved the citizens of the country Rs 2,500 crore.

Who can open Janaushadhi Kendra
The first condition for opening a Janaushadhi center under this scheme of the government is that if a person wants to open a Janaushadhi center, then he should have a degree in D Pharma or B Pharma. Even if he wants to give employment to someone by opening Janaushadhi Kendra, he must have this degree. That is, it is mandatory to submit the degree as a proof while applying.
Any person or business, hospital, NGO, pharmacist, doctor, and medical practitioner can apply to open a medicine center under PMJAY.
Under PMJAY, up to Rs 50,000 medicine advance amount is given to SC, ST and differently-abled applicants to open medicine centres. A medicine shop is opened in the name of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra.
how to earn
The Janaushadhi Kendra would have been given an additional incentive of 10 per cent of the sales of 12 months. However, this amount is maximum Rs 10,000 per month. In North Eastern states, Naxal affected areas, tribal areas, this incentive can be up to 15 percent.
You must have these documents
If you are applying yourself then you will need Aadhar and PAN card. If an NGO, Pharmacist, Doctor, and Medical Practitioner applies to open a Jan Aushadhi Kendra, then he will have to give Aadhar, PAN, Certificate of Institution and its registration certificate at the time of applying. To open a medicine center under this scheme, you should have at least 120 square feet of space.
