ICICI Bank has launched mobile app iMobile Pay based contactless payment service for its credit card and debit card customers. At present, this service has been started only for Visa cards.
ICICI Bank has launched contactless payment service with the help of its Mobile Bank App (iMobile). Once this service is started, customers can make payment with the help of mobile tap on the POS (Point of Sale) machine. 1.5 crore credit and debit card customers of the bank will get the benefit of starting this service.
It was said by the bank that after the introduction of contactless payment service, the customer will not need to carry a credit or debit card. They will be able to pay at any retail outlet with the help of a tap on the POS machine from the mobile app instead of the card. It is completely based on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. With the help of this service, the digital form of credit and debit cards will be available in the phone with the customers of ICICI Bank. In such a situation, payment can be made to any merchant with the help of a phone.
‘Tap to Pay’ will improve the experience
Sudipta Roy, Head, Unsecured Asset, ICICI Bank said that the contactless mobile payment service frees our customers from carrying a physical credit or debit card. The bank is focusing more on ‘Tap to Pay’ payment method. This will give many benefits to the customers. Their service experience will be better.
Card details are not shared in this
It is a more secure medium of digital payment. In this, the card details are not shared during the transaction and all the customer details are kept in the secured cloud server of the bank. Apart from this, this service is also much faster.
Download the new version of iMobile Pay
Currently, the facility of ‘Tap to Pay’ service is available on Visa cards with the help of iMobile Pay mobile app. Very soon it will be launched on Mastercard as well. If you are also an ICICI Bank customer then download the new version of iMobile Pay from Google Play Store.
Transactions without PIN up to 5000
According to the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, a customer can do a maximum transaction of Rs 5000 at a time with the help of tap service. If you want to do a transaction of more than Rs 5000, then you will have to use a PIN for this.
