CNG-PNG Price Updates: In the festive season, once again the common man has been hit by inflation. The prices of CNG and PNG have increased for the second time this month. Mahanagar Gas has increased the prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) by Rs 2.97 and Rs 1.29 per kg, respectively. The new rates have come into effect from midnight of 13 October 2021. Let us inform that Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) had increased the price of CNG by Rs 2.28 per kg on Tuesday.
Two weeks ago, Mahanagar Gas had increased the price of CNG by Rs 5.56 per kg (10.7%) and PNG by Rs 3.53 per scm (11.6%). This increased rate of CNG has increased the burden of expenses on lakhs of auto and taxi drivers of Mumbai and the budget of housewives is going to be spoiled due to the rise in domestic pipeline gas prices.
Why are the prices of CNG-PNG rising?
In fact, on September 30, the government had increased the price of natural gas by a whopping 62 percent. After increasing the prices of natural gas, companies are increasing the prices of CNG, PNG and LPG gas cylinders.
MGL announces the revised prices of CNG as ₹. 57.54/Kg and PNG ₹. 33.93/SCM in and around Mumbai w.e.f. midnight of 13th October, 2021.

The price of natural gas has now increased to $2.90 MMBTU (Metric Million British Thermal Units) for the October-March half (October 2021 to March 2022). For the April-September 2021 half, this price was $1.79 per MMBTU.
Indraprastha gas also increased the price
Indraprastha Gas Limited has increased the price of CNG by Rs 2.28 per kg. After the increase in the price, the price of CNG gas in Delhi will increase to 49.76 per kg. In Noida, this price will increase to Rs 56.02 per kg. In Gurugram this price will be Rs 58.20 per kg, Rewari Rs 58.90, Kaithal Rs .57.10, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Shamli Rs 63.28, Fatehpur and Hamirpur Rs 66.54 and Ajmer, Pali, Rajsamand it will be Rs 65.02 per kg. .
